Wow, Wow, Wow - this company is NUTS! Off the scale nuts. They use biomimicry based design and engineering to make the maddest stuff ive ever seen …  I’ve just watched videos of floating AND swimming Penguins, an AIR Jellyfish flying through their foyer (if that wasnt enough they made them aquatic and gave have collective behaviour!) even a robotic arm as flexible as an elephants trunk! (Ohh and that robotic bird from my last post.)

Wow, just wow … imagine doing this for a living! I love the way after all that design and engineering the final fix was an improvisation during testing. (towards the end) - you also gotta love the understated German team. I mean they BUILT A BIRD! Imagine if the Americans did that you’d hear the high fiving from Sydney! Anyway, deserves the (overused) tag of awesome - the bird flew live above a TED audience a while back but this is the making of - much more interesting! (via Festo Festo Corporate - SmartBird)

Treadlie’s Made to Measure exhibition has hit the road for the Sydney Design festival! It’s a celebration of passionate people who design bikes…
