Interesting use of consumer electronics for protest - i can see a day when Do Gooder offers these as an action tool deployed from base stations across the world ;)
Looks very interesting. Some nice features already. Can Google finally compete with Facebook in social? I think given the reach of Google they have the best shot to break through the network effect of Facebook.
The very cool features shown here makes me think even more so. It probably needs to connect to Facebook initially though to make it immediately useful. Just to pull stuff off and provide feeds - like training wheels - i can then slowly get my friends to use it etc. And where’s the twitter integration? Must be coming surely!
Another awesome shared blog from the other place I work at - definitely worth bookmarking :)

Got inspired at the DIY World talk at Vivid Sydney - then my good friend Justin Clarke at Digital Ally sent me this .. now im speechless ;) (via RepRapWiki)
Saul Griffiths spoke at TEDx about his wing that generates energy much the same way a wind turbine does. fascinating.

F.lux: better lighting … for your computer
Ive been using this for a few weeks and i think it’s pretty awesome actually. Maybe the most under rated app onthe mac even!
The wee app adjusts your screen so that you’re not cranking up the stay wake juices while you work late at night on your computer.
You have to remember not to do visual design/colour work while it’s on but that’s not too big a deal for us strategy/ux/boss types ;)
Playpower: An introduction (by Playpower Foundation)
fantastic project that is utilising cheap technology to bring computing to more people. $10 beats the One Laptop Per Child price point by a fair margin but more importantly the regional open source software approach means that a co-design/co-creation model is being used. This is where the One laptop Per Child, designed FOR communities rather than WITH (as i understand it), has had some criticism.
VideoPress - this looks very cool - worth using for our site perhaps to add direct video?
